Caregiver & Provider FAQs

Who thrives in this role?

Our caregivers come from all walks of life. What unites them is heart. Community Homes might be the place if you:

  • Care deeply about people and want to build lasting relationships.
  • See caregiving as a calling, not just a job.
  • Are ready to lead a household with empathy, patience, and respect.
  • Want to grow your skills and be part of a supportive team.
Will I be supported in my role?

Yes! At Community Homes, caregiving is a shared effort rooted in trust and teamwork. You’ll have the support of families, supervisors, and fellow caregivers every step of the way. We believe strong homes are built when everyone—caregivers, families, and staff—works together to provide consistent, compassionate care and ensure every resident feels at home.

  • Caregivers and Providers handle daily living support, relationship building, household management, and direct resident care.
  • Community Homes provides hands-on experience, regular supervision, crisis support, scheduling coordination, and ongoing professional development.
  • Families manage disability benefits, personal finances, medical appointments and prescriptions, and maintain regular connection through visits and family gatherings.

Together we ensure residents receive consistent, compassionate care while caregivers have the support and resources needed for success.

What roles are available?

There are a few different ways to work with Community Homes:

  • Live-in caregivers and providers create consistency and connection by living alongside residents.
  • Hourly and respite caregivers provide hands-on support and build relationships through regular shifts and short-term stays.

No matter your role, you’re an integral part of helping our residents thrive.

What kind of support will I receive?

We don’t expect you to know everything on day one. We provide:

  • Comprehensive onboarding and hands-on training
  • Mentorship from experienced caregivers
  • Ongoing check-ins, team meetings, and coaching
  • Access to additional training as you grow in your role

You’ll always have someone to turn to for guidance and support.

What’s it like to work in a Community Homes household?

Every home is unique—but all are warm, stable, and connected.

You’ll help shape daily routines, build relationships with residents, and create a positive household culture. You’ll work closely with families, staff, and the Community Homes team to make sure each resident feels safe, supported, and truly at home.

Do I need previous experience?

Experience helps, but heart matters most.

Many of our best caregivers came to this work from other fields—education, hospitality, childcare, or healthcare—and grew into their role through hands-on experience and support.

What we value most is empathy, reliability, and a commitment to helping others grow.
